Quiet around here can mean any number of things. It can mean good, it can mean bad, it can mean busy, it can mean not feeling like sharing. It's probably all those things rolled in one.
I haven't felt like sharing lately. And now that I log back onto Blogger I realize another reason why I haven't posted lately - I can't seem to add pictures any longer! I don't know where the buttons went to add pictures and videos - anyone know how to help? I think the last time I went to blog I gave up on figuring out how to make them come back. So those are the reasons for my hiatus.
There's also been a lot happening. Gabe started school. He LOVES it. He only goes on Mondays and Tuesdays with Lisa, but he has really come alive on those days when he's at school. He is in a special education school in case you're wondering, and has 3 other little boys in his class. One has a trach, the other two don't. On his first day of school they had swimming and poor Gabe wasn't allowed in the water. School policy is no children with trachs in the pool. We're going to have to work on that one... you know how much Gabe loves the water!!! He receives Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy on the days he's at school. He also goes to Art and Music and will be starting up with the Vision therapist again. He really loves all the attention he receives at school and will really respond well to whatever treatment or task he is doing. We're so thrilled for this opportunity for him!!
He also had his 3rd birthday party which was so much fun, but, sorry, no pictures. Not yet, at least.
Next big news is that Gabe needs tubes in his ears. I know in the grand scheme of things, this is not a big deal. But it's just something else. In September Gabe had his third ear infection. He failed a hearing test in August due to fluid in his ears. The fluid keeps getting infected. We not only want Gabe to be pain-free and without infection, but we also want him to be able to hear! We know he can hear... but of course want him to hear at his full potential. So an ENT appointment this past Thursday confirmed he needs tubes.
Finally, I'll end on a happy note. Gabe will be getting a wish granted from Make-A-Wish! The ladies are coming out next Friday to meet with us and for us to tell them what wish Gabe wants. Disney World? A Steelers game? We shall see! That's it for now! Good night!

I'm glad you posted. Sorry you can't do pictures. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Glad it's quiet. Girls must be sleeping. I hope Gabe gets the wish that is best for him (and a help to you). You all deserve the best.
Love you.
Mom
i knew school would be great for Gabe - so glad he's enjoying it. can't wait to hear what "make-a-wish" he gets!!! love you all!
Glad to see you posted. I'm not much help when it comes to pictures on computer. Quiet can be good, just don't get in to your own head thinking too much. Glad Gabe is enjoying school. Can't wait to see what wish is granted. As for Gabes tubes, that, praise God is a good thing. A positive step forward. You will see. Have faith!!!
Love, Peggy
It was such an honor to meet Gabe for the first time on Sunday! What a precious little one! And of course it was so fun playing princess tea party with two beautiful princesses. :) I'm continuing to pray for your family and for the perpetually frustrating nursing situation. Hope to see you all again soon!
Thinking of you and praying for you!
