I cherish these four precious people so much. I was watching a program last night about the "mermaid girl" who passed away this past fall, and I was just bawling my eyes out. Her parents, in an interview after her death, described their daughter as someone who loved so much and was loved so very much in return. I couldn't help but make the comparison to Gabe. It is my honor and privelige to be his mom, just as much as it is my privelige to be mom to these beautiful little girls. I felt somewhat convicted about viewing motherhood with Gabe as a chore, responsibility, even burden at times?? I'm sure moms of special little ones can relate. While it is so challenging and exhausting and even though Gabe cannot tell me that he loves me or say thanks Mom for fighting for me and loving me, he shows me his love with his smiles, his laughter, his sweet personality that lights up whenever we walk in the room. Gabe lit up as soon as he heard her voice in the house. He smiled and cooed the entire time she was here.
