This summer has been, in a word, challenging. All winter long I look forward to summer (if I was being honest, all of autumn and spring too). Summer to me means fun in the sun, and the pool, and the sprinkler, baseball games, BBQ's, being outside as much as possible until the cool night finally comes. Whether these activities take places on the weekends, or weekdays, they are what I anticipate all year long.
Not having the freedom to do some of these things is hard. I won't lie. Many times I feel "stuck" here. Packing up Gabe to go anywhere or do anything takes time and energy and motivation. Some days I have it and some days I don't. There is more that I could say about this, but I can't. Just trust me, it's tough.
Gabe got sick with a respiratory infection at the end of last week and since then we've pretty much been on lock-down. I just want him to be able to fully recover.
I'm looking at an anniversary coming up on the 14th - and a post to go with it - any guesses on why this date is "special" to us??

I am sorry you are "locked down" so often and not able to enjoy Summer as much as you all should as a family. I know I get overwhelmed with the task of taking Marissa places and we don't have nearly as much "stuff" as you do. And we don't have two other kids! I can only imagine how isolated you must feel sometimes.
As for the anniversary on the 14th, I am going to guess that is the day he finally came home from the hospital. I know that is always a special day around our house.
Blessings to you!
I'm sorry you guys are on "lock down". I have been feeling so isolated lately to. Reading your post was like reading my mind. Stephen and I have been talking a lot lately about how isolated we feel lately. I hope Gabe is feeling better soon! You guys are always in our thoughts and prayers.
I need to come over and see you and the kids...let me know when you're not on lock down. I'm home from my travels and would love to get over to see you before our school year kicks in. Call me and let me know what works. I know it's been a hard summer for so many reasons. Autumn is coming and it's a beautiful time of year too!
